Scissor Sisters Hair & Beauty brand identity

Scissor Sisters is a family-owned hair and beauty salon based in Meanwood, North Leeds that was started by sisters Jodie and Sarah Clarkson.

Working with a limited budget, the ladies approached Nugget Creative to design a new logo which could be implemented on the salon’s facade and various print literature.

Wanting to move away from the tired, overused themes seen in many salons, the design instead focussed on what makes the salon so popular with its customers – the sisters. To reflect this, two letter S’s were flipped and connected to reveal a heart shape, echoing the bond between the two siblings. A monochromatic colour scheme added to the logo’s vibe, delivering greater recognition, sophistication and a gender-neutral appeal.
